Course Content

If you want to work or study in an English-speaking country, you’ll need to pass the IELTS examination. The first step is defining what type of learner you are, there are Visual learners, Reading and Writing learners, Auditory learners, and Kinaesthetic learners. You might find that more than one learning style applies to you. Your tutor will share tips to help you learn depending on your preferred learning style.

  • Listening

The listening part of the exam can be quite tricky as you only get to hear the recording once. You will be asked 40 questions in the exam. Your tutor will give you some top listening tips for answering the different types of questions in this part of the exam.

  • Reading

In the exam you will have three reading passages, this is the most challenging part of the IELT as you have limited time to read the passages. Your tutor will offer some great advice to pass this part of the exam, like explaining synonyms, antonyms, morphemes, and word collocations.

  • Writing

For this part of the examination, you will have to write an essay. Your tutor provides examples of counterarguments, suggests making up statistics or facts for your question, and proposes using anecdotes.       

  • Writing Dos and Don’ts

Your tutor will provide you with some tricks for sounding formal like avoiding contractions, slang use and simple sentences. You will also be provided with examples of formal sentence structure. 

  • Speaking

The speaking examination is made up of three parts. Firstly, you need to talk about yourself, secondly, you will need to deliver a Monologue, and thirdly, the examiner will ask you questions about your monologue. Your tutor provides advice for this part of the exam.
